We, International Federation of Social Workers Asia-Pacific Region feel strong indignation over the case of Japanese hostages in Syria. These atrocities can never be excused from any standpoint.
Based on the values and ethics of social work, and recognising the right to life as the most fundamental among human rights, we, as social workers, declare that this case must be resolved immediately and also call for a peaceful settlement of the major conflict in the area.
