IFSW Member in the UK: ‘Austerity’s effects are driving social workers to tears – it’s why we must protest’

Chairperson of the British Association of Social Workers, Guy Shennan writes in the Guardian; ‘The effects of austerity are not evenly spread, as people living in poverty are hit the hardest. Social workers are acutely aware of these effects, given the part poverty plays in the lives of so many of the people we see across children’s and adults’ services.’
