Responsive social services: strengthening the impact of user participation
Bucharest, 22-23 April 2024
IFSW Europe is a partner in organizing an international conference that focus on the enhancement of responsiveness in social services to input from service users.
The conference, conducted within the framework of the Horizon Europe research project ‘Increasing responsiveness to citizen’s voice in social services across Europe,’ aims to explore the realization of democratic goals such as participation, co-creation, and co-production in the context of rising social inequalities, financial pressures, pandemic-related disruptions, and the growing use of digital approaches in the social sector.
Focusing on social services addressing vulnerability and promoting social inclusion across various domains, the two-day event invites contributions that illuminate the utilization of input from service users to shape frontline practice, organizational development, policy, and governance processes.
The conference welcomes diverse participants, including service users, activists, practitioners, policy officials, and researchers, with an emphasis on research presentations from various disciplines, such as social work, sociology, psychology, social policy, and economics.
The conference’s language is English. Participation is free-of-charge and light refreshments will be provided during the event. Participants will need to cover their own travel and accommodation.
