Celebrating World Social Work Day 2025 in Thailand – A Regional Gathering for Solidarity and Social Justice
The Department of Social Development and Welfare, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security of Thailand, successfully hosted a landmark event on 24 March 2025 to commemorate World Social Work Day 2025. The event also served as the 16th National Conference and the 8th Asia and the Pacific Regional Conference on Social Welfare and Social Work, bringing together social work professionals, academics, policymakers, and students both onsite at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok and online via Zoom.
Themed around solidarity, community empowerment, and advancing social justice, the conference featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, and cultural performances that highlighted the evolving role of social work in Thailand and across the Asia-Pacific region. Participants from across the globe engaged in rich dialogue, exchanged practices, and reaffirmed their commitment to collaborative action in response to shared regional challenges.
