IFSW-AP recently held its annual general meeting on Friday, 17 January 2025.This meeting served as a review of the activities and achievements of 2024.
The meeting was attended by over 60 representatives from 17 national associations from across the region as well as the officers from the Education, Ethics, Indigenous and UN Regional Commissions.
We were also pleased to have the IFSW President, Mr Joachim Mumba and Secretary-General, Dr Rory Truel joined us. IFSW-AP President Dr Machiko Ohara opened the meeting with congratulating Dr Teoh Ai Hua for being elected as the Vice President for the Asia Pacific region and thanking Mr Sriganesh M. V. for his invaluable contributions as the previous Vice President.
Dr Ohara also welcomed 2 new members, the Association of Professionals Social Workers of Cambodia and Taiwan Association of Social Workers to the IFSW-AP as well as highlighted the region’s activities over the past year and the upcoming regional conference that will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka in November 2025.
